Activities for Young Chautauqua Tourists

There are numerous activities for young Chautauqua Tourists.  Sometimes whether we like it or not, our activities tend to revolve around our kids. Luckily while on vacation its the kid activities that are sometimes the most fun. Here in Chautauqua and the surrounding area, visitors will find so many great things to do.  Wouldn't it be great to start with the thing kids like most. Laughter. Did you know that kids laugh between 300 and 600 times a day while adults laugh as little as 10 time per day. How about trying out some Lucille Ball fanatics for some laughter. Close to Chautauqua, NY Jamestown, New York was Lucy's hometown. In Jamestown, tourists will visit the Lucy and Desi Museum which is loaded with Lucy memorabilia and several other fantastic Lucy lover things. Lucy and Desi days are held in Jamestown each Memorial Day weekend bringing thousands of visitors. What a great way to spend time with the kids.

 

A favorite in the area for the youngest of kids is Midway State Park. This is an amusement park, located in Maple Springs and loaded with the greatest kiddie rides, an arcade and a roller skating rink. The small amusement park brings thousands each and every summer. The bumper cars and the old time merry-go-round are always two of the favorites.

 

Kids always like to swim on a hot day. There are several places to find a cold place to swim on a hot day around here. It might be a swimming pool you enjoy or a cold dip in the lake or the gorge. Lakeside park in Mayville, NY is a great place for summertime fun including picnics, swimming and tennis. Catch a ride on the Chautauqua Belle right next door too. A beautiful sunny, summer days calls for a walk in the Chautauqua Gorge.  Whats more fun than an adventurous walk. Seeing new things and finding new places. One never knows what they will see around the next bend. Maybe you'll find a waterfall or a swimming hole. Sometimes even a glimpse of a deer catching a cold drink. It's a fantastic place. Visit it and see.

 

Waldemere Amusement Park in Erie offers the traditional amusement park rides but is also has a fantastic water park that many love.

 

The Jamestown Savings Bank Ice Arena in Jamestown, NY may be a favorite place to stop for those who love to skate.

 

Miniature Golf Courses provide good times for the whole family and can be found nearby.

 

Jamestown Jammers or Erie Seawolves Baseball Games make an enjoyable afternoon or evening out.State Parks are other great places to visit. There are 4 of them in the immediate area.
