Some Amish farmers are turning organic. Financially this improves the ability of these small farms to survive. Amish recipes reflect all of these things. In their communities, you will find many treasures. There are many shops that people visit to purchase handmade items. If you like homemade goods, you can travel throughout the community and find your choice of foods. Sweet rolls, bread, pies, jams and jellies are just a few great treats.
Different kinds of wood are used to make furniture including rocking chairs, tables, dressers, cedar hope chests and anything by special order. Gazeebos and wooden sheds are also frequently sold.
The greenhouse can provide you with seasonal flowers and hanging baskets for your summer needs. Several farmers like to plant different types of flowers and plants. One popular fruit that grows well in the area and is ready by mid June are strawberries another is grapes ready by September.
