The Great Blue Heron Music Festival is an annual festival held the first or second weekend of July in Sherman, New York, a small town in the Amish country side of Western New York. The Great Blue Heron Music Festival, or simply Blue Heron, as it is known, draws several thousand visitors throughout the course of three days.

The Blue Heron presents over 100 musicians, performers and bands between the Main Stage and Dance Tent throughout the festival. Genres represented among the musicians include bluegrass, Cajun, zydeco, African, reggae, Americana, old-time music, Irish music, jam band,and more.

Families looks forward to this festival every year. Probably one of the best kept festival secrets in north east. Donna The Buffalo who hosts the event is joined this year by Rusted Root, The Horseflies, & Town Pants among many others. The Great Blue Heron Festival is approaching its 18th year joining the Finger Lakes Grassroots Festival as one of the longest running festivals in America.

This year's 3 day festival and takes place July 4th weekend and will feature old time jam/songwriters circle, drum workshop hosted by Jim Donovan.
