Rails to Trails in Chautauqua County NY
Several railroad tracks ran throughout Chautauqua County and from town to town. These tracks have since been transformed from rails to trails. This is the name given to the tourist attraction the winds its way throughout the area. Each season provides opportunities for interested tourists to enjoy the season either by walking, hiking, snowmobiling and even cross country skiing through the trails.Many people have worked hard to transform the train tracks to trails that can be utilized in many ways. Some utilize the trails for educational and scouting purposes. They make great places to study wetlands, flowers, birds and wildlife. Each season in the area brings unique and picturesque scenery. The trails are also popular for area photography.
