Chautauqua County will display the Traveling Vietnam Veterans War Memorial Wall which is a half size replica of the actual Wall located in Washington D.C. The Wall is scheduled to be located in Brocton, NY from September 10th-14th and will be located behind the Brocton Legion.

 

The wall displays more than 58000 names of those servicemen who lost their lives in the war. The Wall was last here in Chautauqua County and located in Mayville in 1996. Grant money and donations are being used to cover the $35000.00 cost of the Traveling Wall. There are names of 48 fallen servicemen from Chautauqua County displayed on the Wall. Families of those men will be honored during the week that the wall is here.

 

Several other ceremonies will take place during that week as well.Visitors will be allowed to visit the moving wall in Brocton, free of charge. Over 20,000 visitors are anticipated.Donations and anyone interested in helping are still being encouraged. Contact the Brocton American Legion Post #34, PO Box J. Brocton, NY for more information.
