Lake Erie

Lake Erie is close-by and is a great place for Chautauqua tourists. There are so many things to see and do.

One of my favorite hobbies when I visit these shores and beaches is to search for beach glass. After collecting so many pieces, I began making beautiful beach glass jewelry

Where Can I Find It???

Some shores are better than others when searching for the glass which is also sometimes referred to as sea glass. I usually find several pieces on beaches that are not completely sandy but have small stones coming in with the waves too.

One of my favorite places to search is in Barcelona, New York. The beach glass always seems to be plentiful in that area.

Attractions

Vacationers find several things to do around any lake. Picnics, camping and swimming are always enjoyable. Barcelona, on Lake Erie is a popular tourist attraction in this area. When visiting Barcelona, be sure to check out the break wall. It's a great place to try some fishing and you can't miss the beautiful and historic lighthouse.
